Conservation Photographer By Daniel Beltra - 1614 Words

The colors are disappearing. The blues, greens, yellows, and even reds that once painted stretching fields, running rivers, and tranquil forests are gone. Conserving the earth and all of its resources is more important now than ever before. Conservation photographer, Daniel Beltrà ¡, captures the environment’s most vulnerable moments to create compelling images that enchant his audience. The goal of his work is to allure the eye with conflicting beauty until inevitable displeasure sets in and one begins to understand the true horror of the scene before them. He illustrates the environment from ten-thousand feet up through the small back window of an airplane or helicopter. This view allows Beltrà ¡ to capture the entirety of his subject and enables a single frame to reveal a substantial picture (Beason). Conservation and the impact of man is a concept that is understood over time. We do not always see the immediate consequences of our actions as, many times, our actions outl ive us. Photographs provide a window into a moment in time that allows us to observe years of impact. Beltrà ¡Ã¢â‚¬â„¢s stunning technique of capturing disaster and turning it to beauty is what allures his audience. His photos illustrate the importance of conserving the earth’s natural splendor and give an exclusive look to perspectives one couldn’t see from the ground. The lofty views he provides show viewers the true degree of what they are seeing, but also create a slight illusion. Many times Beltrà ¡ uses the

Coca Cola Company And Debt Securities - 1170 Words

The Coca Cola Company is leading Beverage Company in the world, serving more than 200 countries. In the last quarterly and full year report for 2014 The Coca Cola Company reported the following number: â€Å"Global volume growth of 2% for the full year and 1% in the quarter, net revenues declined 2% in the quarter; excluding the impact of structural items, comparable currency neutral net revenues grew 4% ,there was also a change in the global value share when it came to nonalcoholic ready-to-drink beverages in both the quarter and full year and Lastly they were able to report in the full-year that what they earned in cash from their operations had increased to $10.6 billion.† In this paper we will explain how The Coca Cola Company reported debt†¦show more content†¦Coca Cola has three basic categories of reporting responsibilities, as it pertains to investing, in their company’s investment accounting policy. The first is Cash Equivalents; â€Å"Coca-Cola class ifies time deposits and other investments that are highly liquid and have maturities of three months or less at the date of purchase as cash equivalents.† (Stock Analysis on Net, 2015) This is how the corporation manages their exposure to potential counterparty credit risk. The second category is Short-Term Investments; â€Å"Coca-Cola classifies time deposits and other investments that have maturities of greater than three months but less than one year as short-term investments.† (Stock Analysis on Net, 2015) The third and final is Investments in Equity and Debt Securities; â€Å"Coca-Cola uses the equity method to account for investments in equity securities if investment gives Coca-Cola the ability to exercise significant influence over operating and financial policies of the investee. Coca-Cola includes proportionate share of earnings and/or losses of equity method investees in equity income (loss) — net in consolidated statements of income.† (Stock An alysis on Net, 2015) This third category accounts for the bulk of the Coca Cola Corporation’s stock investments. It is reported in equity method investments in consolidated balance sheets. Additionally, Coca-Cola reviews all investments in equity and debt securities every reporting period (excluding

Microelectronic (either some Ordains compatible board, Teensy, or any us that will suit your needs) TX system (more on the cheap side, you could use Turning xx or Turning car with a achiever that supports PUMP output) – more on that later Step 2. Sensors Its time for you to learn what accelerometer and gyroscope actually do. (yes really) accelerometer – measures g-force, its great to determinate pitch and roll angles, however accelerometers are acceptable to vibrations and shock Graph displaying accelerometer angle (shaking in hand) gyroscope – gyroscope measures acceleration rate (which is perfect for quadruplets), gyroscopes aren’t affected by vibrations however gyroscopes tend to drift over time (more on this later) Graph displaying gyroscope angle drifting over time From the block diagram on top, you could probably have guessed that getting reliable data from those 2 sensors won’t be so easy, but worry not. We will write a custom essay sample on Building Quadcopter Software from Scratch – Theory or any similar topic only for you Order Now Step 3. : Kinematics Part where all the sensor â€Å"magic† happen, I will only cover complementary filter here (as it is the one that I am using and its the most simple one to implement in code / also rather simple to explain). Right now we have raw gyroscope data and raw accelerometer data on our hand, but neither one of these sensor outputs give us â€Å"accurate enough† estimate to be used in our stabilization algorithm. What we will do, is combine cell and gyro outputs via complementary filter. Output from our kinematics will feature a strongly suppressed noise from accelerometer and also gyro step 4. : First PIED First PIED controller, from the diagram on top you can see that our first PIED controller will take output from our pilot as â€Å"setting† and kinematics (containing current estimation of yaw, pitch and roll angles) as input. Output from our first PIED controller will contain = angle desired by pilot +- current kinematics angle, this acts like an â€Å"accelerate† for second PIED. In this case â€Å"accelerate† meaner, that value from our first PIED controller will determinate how â€Å"fast† do we want to correct for the current stabilization error. Step 5. : second PIED Second PIED controller takes the â€Å"accelerate† from first PIED as â€Å"setting† and current gyroscope output (gyro Rate) as input. Resulting output from second PIED controller is the decimal value representing force that has to be applied to each of the axis to correct for the stabilization error. In our case this force is generated by spinning propellers, which size we can control by adjusting speed of the rotating props. How to cite Building Quadcopter Software from Scratch – Theory, Papers

Low-Income Childrens After-School Care Essay Are There Beneficial Effects of After-School Programs provides valuable research to support the need for quality after-school programs for low-income children. Low-income children need after-school programs like UCLinks because poverty affects children directly because it limits the material resources available to them and indirectly because of the psychological distress it engenders in parents, which in turn negatively influences parental behavior. (1) The time a child spends after-school is also important to their academic and social development. The quality and type of after-school care a child receives directly correlates to their performance in school and growth in academic abilities. The UCLinks program was created to offer low-income children a quality, academic after-school program. In the UCLinks program, they have children develop their academic skills in language arts, reading comprehension, off-computer activities, and mathematics. The UCLinks after-school program works on bringing the children up to grade level or furthering their development. We will write a custom essay on Low-Income Childrens After-School Care specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now It does not serve as a homework center for children. Instead, the UCLinks program concentrates on fostering their academic talent in an organized environment. In Posner and Vandells article, they document research that promotes organized, academic after-school care, Childrens academic and conduct grades were positively related to time spent in one-to-one academic work, with an adult, whereas academic and conduct grades were negatively correlated with the amount of time spent in outdoor unorganized activities. 454) The children of the UCLinks program work with a mentor in 1-1 or 1-2 setting, where mentors specifically focus on cademic areas they need to improve or help them develop their abilities to the fullest. 1B. The UCLinks program understands how important reading skills are to childrens success in school. If children do not learn to read at grade level, they have a greater risk of falling behind in class work and eventually dropping out. The UCLinks program uses a combined approach to reading instruction with whole language and specific skills development. In each mentoring session of the UCLinks program, the mentors practice whole language instruction. Children have the opportunity to read one on one with their mentor. Bill Honig advocates this interaction with the children, Teachers classroom routine should include reading good literature to students and discussing it with them, especially by asking questions that stretch childrens minds beyond the literal meaning of the text. 3) The active participation the children engage in while reading to their mentors is productive because the children are able to practice decoding, automatic recognition of words, and improve their reading comprehension. Mentors ask their students relevant questions about the book that pertain to the plot, main points and theme of the story. The UCLinks program also practices the specific skills development with their students. Specific skills development focuses on phonemic awareness, phonics, print awareness, word structure, and word-attack and self-monitoring skills. Honig recommends specific skills development, Students should be taught these skills in an active, problem-solving manner that offers plenty of opportunities to practice the skills in actual reading and writing situations. (13) Children work on computer software like Kid Phonics to develop these specific skills which will ultimately help them read better. The children of the UCLinks program can also spend off-computer time writing stories and poems which immerses them in print awareness and word structure. C. In Children, Mathematics, and Computers by D. H Clements, he writes It appears the dominant focus of school mathematics instruction in the last decade has been on computational skills(which students are learning fairly well), but that the development of roblem-solving skills and conceptual understanding has been inadequate. (1) The focus on computational skills rather than the problem-solving and conceptual understanding hinder the mathematical abilities of students. .u270ee71689da5217e125280ef465c608 , .u270ee71689da5217e125280ef465c608 .postImageUrl , .u270ee71689da5217e125280ef465c608 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u270ee71689da5217e125280ef465c608 , .u270ee71689da5217e125280ef465c608:hover , .u270ee71689da5217e125280ef465c608:visited , .u270ee71689da5217e125280ef465c608:active { border:0!important; } .u270ee71689da5217e125280ef465c608 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u270ee71689da5217e125280ef465c608 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u270ee71689da5217e125280ef465c608:active , .u270ee71689da5217e125280ef465c608:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u270ee71689da5217e125280ef465c608 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u270ee71689da5217e125280ef465c608 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u270ee71689da5217e125280ef465c608 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u270ee71689da5217e125280ef465c608 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u270ee71689da5217e125280ef465c608:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u270ee71689da5217e125280ef465c608 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u270ee71689da5217e125280ef465c608 .u270ee71689da5217e125280ef465c608-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u270ee71689da5217e125280ef465c608:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: The Detrimental Effects in Changing the Rent Contr EssayAs math becomes more abstract, they do not have the required mind state to solve problems with higher level concepts. The UCLinks program supports the teaching of relational mathematics, according to Skewer, knowing what to do and why, over rote learning with their students. The solid mental foundation relational mathematics builds will increase the mathematical abilities of the hildren and help them problem-solve as math becomes more complex and abstract. The teaching of relational mathematics in the UCLinks program can be observed with the use of pencil and paper, manipulatives, and computers to help children understand mathematical concepts and problem-solving. These practices are further supported in Clements article, National Council of Teachers in Mathematics recommends that students be actively involved in learning, experimenting with, exploring, and communicating about mathematics. (4) The evelopment of childrens mathematical abilities increases when they actually learn the concepts behind the math problems and how to solve them on their own. The interaction children have with pencil and paper and manipulatives stimulates their thought process and helps them understand why. Computers also present an interesting new way to learn mathematics with software like Math Blaster and Mighty Math Heroes. Children need to learn mathematics solutions that actively engage them. If they are strictly prohibited to computation, children will lose their interest in mathematics as they grow older.
